If you’ve decided not to indulge in alcohol excess this Christmas, you’re probably looking for other things to treat yourself with instead. We’re all human, and treating our bodies with kindness sometimes comes second to an evening in with a large bar of Dairy Milk. But if you’re changing your drinking habits this festive season, you might want to make sure that what you switch to is not necessarily unhealthy either.
Our friends at Real Remedies wowed us at our two mindful drinking festivals – they make delicious teas, tonics and tinctures that are a treat you can enjoy without feeling guilty about afterwards. As well as being delicious and having the prettiest packaging of all time, they work with your Chakras and help your body maintain balance and sensitivity.
They even have non-alcoholic botanical spirit elixirs – I am not quite sure what an elixir is but it already sounds special and so very tempting! Hot or cold, pre-work buzz or after work wind down, they have something for every mood. Here are a few thirst-quenching, all-natural alcohol-free cocktail recipes that are on our must-try list this Christmas.
50ml Real Remedies Wide Skies botanical elixir
125ml Elderflower Presse
Dash of blackberry juice or cordial
Sprig of rosemary
Muddle the Wide Skies elixir and Elderflower Presse. Pour into a champagne flute then add the blackberry juice or cordial slowly down the side of the glass, so it settles on the bottom and creates a pretty purple-red shade. Add the sprig of rosemary and sip blissfully.
15ml Real Remedies Spice Earth botanical elixir
35ml Real Remedies Asian Fires botanical elixir
100ml pineapple juice
50ml cranberry juice
15ml fresh lemon juice
Add all the ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake. Strain into a margarita glass with a salted rim, if preferred. Serve with a twist of lemon.
50ml Real Remedies Spiced Earth botanical elixir
70ml cranberry juice
250ml ginger beer
Muddle the Real Remedies Spiced Earth botanical elixir and the cranberry juice in a highball glass. Top up with ginger beer and garnish with a slice of lime, or if you have any, fresh cranberries.
