New Year’s Eve and Resolutions

New Year January

On this webinar, Laura covers how to get through New Year’s Eve, and how to set the resolution to make ‘sort out your drinking’ a resolution of the past.

New Year’s Eve top tips

  • Take your own drinks wherever you go – be bold!
  • Practice saying ‘no’ to an alcoholic drink
  • Plan a reward for yourself at the end of the night
  • Treat yourself with consent
  • WOOP your way out of trouble.

Setting your resolutions

  • Make changing your drinking habits your main goal, with the other resolutions to support it
  • Don’t set yourself up to fail and load too much on yourself
  • Sort out your drinking, and weight loss will come later.

Great webinar about New Years Eve. My WOOP? Last year I intended to be sober and failed so miserably that I spent New Year’s Day in bed horribly hungover. So my wish is not to repeat this I have been mostly AF since 1/1/2018. My objective is to spend tomorrow planning the year for my allotment, not glamorous but will give me a huge feeling of motivation and achievement. Obstacle- being in a situation where I know there will be a lot of drinking but my plan is delicious flavoured tonic waters and I know if I can get past the offer of the first drink I will be safe. Happy New Year everyone!
